Google Drive is a cloud-based storage service that allows you to store all of your documents, photos, images, and videos in one place and then access this information from any location (i.e. your laptop, your office, on the go etc.).
Google Drive is currently available on PC, Mac, and Android devices and will be available soon for iPhone and iPad users (date TBA).
Benefits of Google Drive
- Access/view 30 different file types in a single browser including images, HD video, and .pdf files.
- Save files from Smartsheet, DocuSign and various other web apps right into Google Drive.
- Have instant access to Google Docs – sharing/editing files with colleagues is a snap!
- It’s FREE – get 5GB of space for free. If you need more space, you can upgrade to 25GB of space for $2.49/month. For more data refer to Google’s storage and pricing support document.
We started using Google Drive after it launched in April 2012 and love how easily we can view documents as a team and collaborate on projects/documents.
How Safe is Google Drive?
Google Drive has several security measures in place to keep your data safe including: encrypted connections to Google’s servers, two-step authentication, automatic backup of data etc.
