When it comes to the workplace, what motivates your team to work hard and put their best effort forward? In November 2014, RingCentral conducted a survey of upper management decision makers in the United States to learn more about what motivates employees and the use of business communication tools in the workplace.
Key findings in the survey include:
- Motivators in the Workplace: Workers are motivated by being able to work remotely, flexible hours, more time off and better communication tools.
- Use of Multiple Devices – 85% of workers use more than one device to communicate at work. Workers are multi-tasking by using their desktop computer, desk phone, smartphone and/or tablet to communicate at work.
- Attitude Towards In-Person Meetings – Simply put, workers favor business communication tools over face-to-face meetings. The survey found that 95% of workers plan to use business communication tools (i.e. email, mobile, desk phones, text messaging and web meetings) instead of a face-to-face meeting.
- Attitude Towards Internal Communication Tools – 44% of workers want wider adoption of internal communication tools so that it is easy to communicate with co-workers.
